What to Expect with New Dentures
expand_more
Getting new dentures is an adjustment. It's normal to experience some changes:
The Adjustment Period
Your mouth may feel full or awkward at first — this will improve as your muscles adapt.
Dietary Changes
Start with soft foods, chew slowly using both sides of your mouth.
Speech Patterns
Speaking may feel different — practice reading aloud to adjust.
Expected Soreness
Minor soreness is common; if pain persists, contact us for an adjustment.
When to Get a Reline

Over time, bone and tissue beneath your dentures change shape. A reline ensures a snug fit. Signs you may need one:
- — Dentures feel loose or slip when eating or talking
- — Using more adhesive than usual
- — Sore spots or irritation from poor fit
- — It's been more than two years since your last reline
